Frequently Asked Questions

What type of psychologist are you?

I am a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in trauma, moral injury, burnout, identity concerns, and life transitions. I work with adults who have experienced high-stress environments, including military service, first responder work, healthcare, and other service-oriented careers, as well as clients navigating major life challenges.

Do you specialize in trauma and PTSD treatment?

Yes. One of many services I provide is evidence-based, trauma-informed therapy for individuals experiencing PTSD, complex trauma, and stress-related symptoms. My work focuses on helping clients process difficult experiences, regulate emotions, and regain a sense of stability and control.

Do you work with military members and veterans?

Yes. I am both a licensed psychologist and a combat veteran. I have extensive experience working with active-duty service members, veterans, and military families. My background helps me to understand military culture, operational stress, and transition challenges without clients needing to explain or minimize their experiences.

Do you offer a free consultation?

Yes. I offer a free 15-minute phone or video consultation. This consultation allows you to ask questions, discuss your concerns, and determine whether working together feels like a good fit before scheduling a full session.

Do you accept insurance for therapy?

I currently work as an out-of-network provider. Many clients use their out-of-network benefits for partial reimbursement. I provide detailed receipts and documentation to help with insurance claims and reimbursement.

What are individual therapy sessions like?

Sessions are structured, supportive, and focused on what matters most to you. We’ll talk openly about current challenges, identify patterns that may be holding you back, and work on practical strategies for change. My style is engaged, direct, and compassionate.
